Christ Community Church affirms the definition of missions to be any endeavor outside our local congregation that fulfills the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, making disciples and gathering these disciples into local congregations, while relating to the needs of the total person (spiritual, physical, emotional and social). Further, missions at CCC shall be defined as those ministries occurring throughout the world that seek to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) in many key areas. The CCC Missions Committee is composed members of CCC approved by the CCC Elder Board to serve with the Senior Pastor in administering the overall direction of the CCC missions program.

From a practical and administrative perspective, the missions committee responsibilities include:

  • Setting measurable goals by which the missions program can be evaluated.
  • Maintain regular contact with the missionaries supported by CCC.
  • Educate the congregation about missions.
  • Inspire and involve the congregation in missions program.
  • Increase congregational awareness of missionaries’ needs supported by CCC and promote intercessory prayer for them.
  • Administer the CCC Short-Term Missions Program.
  • Identify, encourage, counsel, disciple and commend members of the congregation for missionary service.
  • Recommend missionaries, agencies, special projects and ministries to the congregation for support.
  • Prepare and administer the mission’s budget.
  • Evaluate missions efforts yearly and recommend continuation, increases/decreases, or removal from support.
